WYNTER & BRINKLY

Introduction and Recap

If you've read the previous Wynter stories, you might want to skip this and go to Wynter & Brinkly Pt 1

Gold Bar, WA

This is an erotic fantasy. It is the fourth sequel to the continuing story of Wynter. The stories are, in order,
Wynter
Wynter & Jimmy
Wynter & Cinnamon
Wynter & Hailey
Wynter & Brinkly.

This story contains Chapter Zero, a background summary that recapitulates events the preceding four books (with spoilers). Long-term readers may skip it since it contains no new information. If you're new to the Wynter stories, you really should read all the stories in order. That way you can better understand the background and see the development of the characters. If you insist on starting with this one, then you must read the background.

All characters, institutions, and situations are purely imaginary, and this story is NOT intended to be a guide for actual behavior. Any similarities between this story and actual people or actual events you should be ashamed of are purely coincidental. If it is illegal in your part of the world to access and read erotic fiction, or if you are underage, or if you don't like underage sex stories, then stop now.

Thank you for your consideration.

My sincerest thanks to Denny Wheeler for editing this story and, along with Uncle Sky, the Night Hawk, Wizard, Rod O'Steele, and Tesseract, for providing input and keeping the characters in character. Special thanks to the Night Hawk for being my musical advisor and to Wizard for allowing me to use characters, catch-phrases, and events from his excellent series, The Trailer Park.

This story is dedicated to Denny, who is to blame for Cinnamon's being a redhead instead of a blonde and thus having her name.

Part Zero

(Background)

Wake up. I want to show you something. You think this southbound state highway is approaching some typical Colorado mountain town, don't you? You have no idea how wrong you are. Let's take this exit before the highway turns west and I'll explain.

This off-ramp turns into a private frontage road down to Wizard Ski Basin. Those slopes up there look pretty normal, don't they? They'll look even more normal when snow covers them. And they'll be mostly normal because they're on this side, the west side, of the highway, but we're going to take the crossover to the east side. That's a different world over there.

The compass says we're traveling southeast here over the highway. Notice how Cheyenne Road beyond turns more southerly where those ramps merge? But it's not north-south after we pass the east ramps, nor is it northwest-southeast, either. That's just the first thing out of kilter here.

Yes, that lake is quite beautiful and does have some geological quirks, but it's the population that's really odd. Kids born here mature physically, mentally, and emotionally about three years faster than in the rest of the state. It doesn't seem to affect kids who move here after they're born, and it doesn't affect everyone born here, but it affects most and has created several geniuses.

Look! There's the perfect example up there on the right, by the middle school, waiting for the light to change so they can cross the road. With one exception, they are seventh graders. That blonde girl with the pony tail? That's the medical genius, Wynter King, Future MD. Twelve years old and she has already decided she will be a doctor, though she started out wanting to be a nurse after she saved the life of Dragon, an abandoned Labrador retriever puppy. She has an almost photographic memory for medical texts and keeps them on her nightstand for "light reading" before she goes to sleep. See those mountains on the south side of town? Wynter actually was born up there, but that's still on the east side of the highway.

Those are her classmates with her. The short kid with the crooked glasses is Kenny Taylor, son of the hospital director and also a Future MD. Doctor Taylor, who convinced Wynter to become an MD instead of an RN, allows both to make rounds with his staff. Mitch Brees, the new OB/GYN, is trying to recruit Wynter into his specialty. So are the hospital's other doctors, but he was the first to do so actively. She's been in the delivery room several times at his invitation.

If you get hurt, you'll be luckyand gratefulif Wynter and Kenny provide initial first aid before the paramedics arrive. Both have saved lives. Just keep your daughters away from the Taylor kid, who fancies himself Studman. Your wife is safe. Temporarily. Kenny's also a promising martial arts expert. Gives him the added advantage of being able to create his own patients on a slow day. Am I kidding? Maybe.

That tallest boy, the redheaded one, is Wynter's Future Husband, Jimmy McCauley. Both live down that westerly street, Seabridge Trail, about a mile past the middle school. He's the general science genius;smartest boy of any age in town and nearly Wynter's equal, and is totally devoted to her. Your sons or daughters don't have a chance with either of them.

That girl in the wheelchair with the red-blonde hair and that bandage around her right thigh is Suzie Middleton, a student coach at this summer's state swim camp. People here give up to ten-to-one odds that she'll win the 2012 Olympics Swimming Gold in all single events. She's Kenny's girlfriend. Again. Unless she's caught Studman humping somebody else since breakfast. She's an average student except in history, where she excels, and that's a recent improvement over her previous grades now that it's been determined that she's dyslexic. No, our Future MDs didn't determine that, but I'll get back to that thought. That bandaged leg is because she's one of the lives the Future MDs saved. She got that injury by first saving Kenny's life. Again.

Together they are called "The Hargus Four" because of their adventure at the abandoned Hargus Mine at Hargus City, a ghost town, up there on the east side of Buffalo Peak. Two murdering delinquents kidnapped the girls and Jimmy and took them into the mine. When Kenny attacked the thugs in a rescue attempt, one of them caused a cave-in that buried the two alive. Suzie and Kenny were on this side of the collapse. She went for help because Kenny was knocked out and caught under some debris, so she's the first one to save lives, and that was the first time she saved Kenny's.

Wynter and Jimmy were stuck on the other side for a couple of days. They were scared at first, but since they had food and water and flashlights with them and they knew they'd be rescued, they now say it's a good way to get away together and not be bothered. That was when they finally realized that they had a mutual attraction and became boyfriend and girlfriend. And lovers, too.

The other two girls are cousins, and neither was born here. Each, like Wynter, is an only child. Wynter has "adopted" both as sisters. Pick on any one and you'll have a fight with all three plus Suzie. Nobody will risk helping you, including me.

You especially don't want to fight the short shapely redhead with the hair down to mid-thigh. That's Cinnamon Brees, daughter of the OB/GYN, who moved here from Boston in December. People say she's the top female drummer this side of the Mississippi River. Personally, I'd expand that to both sides of the river and both sexes, adults included. Cinnamon is the one who determined Suzie was dyslexic, much to Wynter's and Kenny's chagrin.

Because of circumstances surrounding her birth mother back in her native Boston (God help you if you say just "her mother" unless you have Wynter or Kenny handy for first aid), she has also matured early. Her skills of observation and deduction are matched only by Kenny's martial arts instructor, high schooler Ron Lopez. Sherlock Holmes could take lessons from either, especially from Cinnamon. But piss her off and you'll learn that so could Professor Moriarty.

She's a great person to have as a friend because, as she always says, "You can never have too many friends." She's also the worst person you can have as an enemy. Just ask Matthew Wylie, currently a guest of the state in Buena Vista. Wylie was an eighth grader preying on the sexually inexperienced girls at the school until Cinnamon set him up and used her teeth to make sure his sex life was over, except perhaps as a receiver for the other boys at the correctional facility. She set him up again to get his bail revoked when he began stalking potential witnesses against him.

When her alcoholic birth mother drove Cinnamon's father to the brink of suicide, the girl set up "the bitch," her name for the woman, on a prescription drug abuse charge. She also implicated other members of that side of the family in Boston in an alleged prescription fraud scheme because they had also mistreated her father. How did she accomplish that? She had important friends in the right places who owed her favors. "You can never have too many friends."

Don't get me wrong: she's an incredibly sweet girl as long as you aren't trying to do injury to her friends and her family. She counseled Wylie's unwilling victims and continues to do so with the two Watkins cousins whose families can't afford professional counseling.

The tall brunette eighth-grader in the understuffed tube top and the short-shorts is Cinnamon's cousin, Hailey Kennedy of Kailua, Hawaii. She's the only normal one in the group, if you consider having a libido that makes the Taylor kid look like a celibate monk to be normal. Her primary interests are boys, boys, and boys. Her definition of "boy" has a high upper limit. Your wife might be safe around Kennythis weekbut her husband isn't safe around Hailey. The cousins normally alternate summers with each other, but Hailey is spending a year with Cinnamon while her parents, a marine biologist and an emergency medicine tech, are with an Antarctic research group.

The other two boys were also born here. The Cinnamon-and-Kenny-sized redheaded squirt with the chip on his shoulder and his hand up Hailey's shorts leg is Finnegan Burke. He's the mechanical and electronics genius. Need an intercontinental ballistic missile built out of two empty soup cans, a book of matches, and a snow shoe? Or a supercomputer built out of some chicken wire, an ancient Z-80 processor, and a broken I-Pod? Is noon tomorrow okay, or should he skip dinner?

That leaves the boy just shorter than Jimmy, the one with the "shitty brindle" hair, Huntly Sheridan. He might have been a sports star if he hadn't permanently damaged an already injured knee in a skiing accident. That happened after his father told him he couldn't go skiing until the knee healed, but he decided he knew better. If he forgets that it was his own fault, Cinnamon reminds him with all the subtlety of a train wreck.

Take your clues of Huntly's and Cinnamon's feelings for each other from the puppy-dog looks in their eyes, not from the names they call each other. And don't let their open-marriage relationship fool you. Sure, she's in love with Jimmy and he's in love with Wynter, but that doesn't mean having each other as second choice is a bad thing.

What kind of lives do they lead? They live mostly normal ones. But, as Wynter says, "'Mostly' sure doesn't mean one hundred percent."

This summer Kenny and Ron Lopez took down a visiting drug dealer. When he was accidentally released from custody in Texas, he returned and killed two people he thought had set him up. Then he set his sights on Kenny and Ron. He made his move in a stolen boat while the kids were out on that lake in Cinnamon's family boat, the Summer Breeze, making Cinnamon his enemy.

She fooled him into complacency by awkwardly running until she knew he was out of bullets. Unfortunately, his last one hit Ron. She turned on him before he could reload, forcing him into the extremely treacherous Fishhook Cove after he lost his revolver during one of her attacks. There he tried to kill Kenny with a spear gun, but Suzie threw herself on Kenny, earning her wound.

Both boats were subsequently lost on the cove's rocks. The pusher tried to flee up the steep cliffside despite a broken arm. While Wynter sutured and field dressed Suzie's leg, Kenny pursued, and the pusher soon came crashing to the small beach at the bottom of the cliff. Nobody knows exactly what happened, and Kenny will say nothing except, "He fell."

What else? See those two kids waving in that passing car? The one in the front passenger seat is LaMarcus Reed, an eighth grader and the favorite for breaking a long-standing middle school basketball scoring record. He's also the best bass player in the middle school. The one in the back seat is seventh grade running back Tyrone Hayes, who consistently placed last in rap contests. Thanks to Cinnamon and her friend who is a music agent, the boys have a CD scheduled for release in two months. She convinced Tyrone to give up rap and use his wonderful voice in the spring talent show, then invited the agent to attend. "You can never have too many friends."

LaMarcus is the bass player in Cinnamon's surf music band, Junior and the Twins, which also features Huntly Sheridan, Jimmy McCauley, and Jimmy's father. Sometimes Wynter joins them as a "special guest performer," though she and Jimmy have an unofficial and unnamed new age music group with Cinnamon and occasionally with Huntly and LaMarcus. They don't normally perform in public unless it's as guests with the Twins. Yeah, I have trouble keeping that straight myself.

One other musician recently moved to town: Brinkly Ward. She knew of Cinnamon back east and is extremely jealous of Cinnamon's talent and recognition. She tried to sabotage the Twins' performance at the dedication of the concert shell that International Ski and Trail constructed and donated to the town. She and her mother secretly used her father's position as the head of IST's local Entertainment Division to arrange the sabotage. Fortunately Cinnamon deduced what was about to happen and had Finnegan Burke design and build Plan B, a backup lighting and sound system. Overnight. I told you he was quick and good.

Brinkly also re-traumatized Cinnamon's counseling patient, Possum Watkins. The entire town immediately turned against the Ward family, who suffered several mysterious incidents and "accidents." How did such a thing happen all at once? "You can never have too many friends."

Wynter has one other talent. She's an artist. Her cartoons and colored pencil drawings are often gifts to others. She recently learned oil painting and created unbelievable portraits of both Jimmy and Cinnamon as birthday gifts because she's a perfectionist to a fault. That perfectionism is her worst fault because it creates worries of self-doubt and perceived inadequacies in herself.

Oh! That pickup truck turning the corner there. See the man waving? He's Richard King, a geological engineer. He's Wynter's father, the owner of "the world's most hyperactive klutz genes." That brings us to the side of Wynter that the public doesn't know about.

Last year, while still living in the mountains, her mother, Angie, was sent overseas on a business trip. Her father was once again in the home hospital bed, this time because of two broken arms and a broken leg from a rollover accident. Ellen Carter, his home nurse, rushed to town during a blizzard to correct a prescription error and was trapped there by an avalanche that closed the road. Then-Future-Nurse Wynter became his actual nurse until the road was cleared. Wynter gained hands-on experience with a specific feature of the male anatomy and soon had practical experience with all of its functions.

After her return, Angie soon realized that her husband and daughter were lovers. Richard deliberately let her deduce it on her own. A practical woman, Angie realized that the genie could not be returned to the lamp, so she insisted on rules that, among other things, gave Wynter Friday nights with her father but reserved the rest of the week for herself.

Cinnamon didn't need long to reach the same conclusion, in part because she knew the subtle cues from her experiences with her own father. Richard and Angie and Mitch--Cinnamon's fatherknow about both situations and also that ever-horny Cousin Hailey enjoys threesomes with Cousin Cinnamon and Uncle Mitch. Because of her predilection for speaking without first thinking, Hailey has been kept in the dark about Wynter and her father.

Now that Mitch's divorce from Cinnamon's birth mother is final, he's announced his engagement to Rosita Vasquez, formerly the family's widowed housekeeper. Rosita also knows about Cinnamon and Hailey with Mitch. Rosita, like Hailey, knows nothing about Wynter and Richard.

Wynter's and Cinnamon's biggest concern has been Jimmy. Wynter hates keeping secrets from Jimmy, and she knows that he's smart enough to eventually deduce her relationship with her father. But she has always known that he wasn't able to handle that, so secrecy was necessary. To prepare him for the day when she could tell him, she has, with Cinnamon's help, been performing a slow "prudectomy" to help him handle the facts and to prevent losing him.

She had been wondering how she would approach the topic when the time came. Well, it came a little sooner than she had expected, bringing us to events as seen through the eyes of the various participants.
